In-flight Services of Deutsche Telekom ++ Launch of Lufthansa FlyNet App ++ Today, Lufthansa Group and Deutsche Telekom introduce the Lufthansa FlyNet App, which was developed by us with and for our long-standing airline partner. The app enables passengers to easily access the FlyNet on-board internet on all Wi-Fi-equipped short- and long-haul flights operated by Lufthansa. All they need to do is download the app prior to the flight, register (optional), buy the desired Wi-Fi packages at any time, and start secure and high-speed surfing once connectivity is available on the flight. In-flight Services of Deutsche Telekom++ We won’t stop to aim at excellence ++ The European Aviation Network has been in place for roughly a year now on the airlines of the International Airline Group (IAG) such as British Airways or Vueling. During that time we saw a tremendous development in takerates for the service. But we and our partners didn’t rest on our laurels by just watching the status quo. Together with Inmarsat Aviation and the other EAN stakeholders, we looked into all kinds of performance data and identified potential to bring the service to new heights beyond the initial proposition. For example, we were able to increase the originally expected data rate peak of 75 Mbps to an impressive 100 Mbps. We have also investigated, how the coverage of the network could be optimized and how individual airline requirements could be incorporated even more in the network improvement. With all these efforts we strive for our common goal to guarantee that the EAN will always be what it is today: the best-in-class true broadband Wi-Fi connectivity solution in the airline industry.
